John Grisham will speak at Oklahoma City University to help raise funds for a new OCU School of Law program to address wrongful convictions. “An Evening with John Grisham: The Innocent Man and Wrongful Convictions in America,” begins on October 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.

Dan Brown, who was criticised by his fellow best-selling novelist Philip Pullman for his ‘flat, stunted and ugly’ prose, has won sympathy from John Grisham. “I know that what I do is not literature,” says Grisham, who has sold more than 250 million copies of his legal thrillers. “For me, the essential component of fiction is plot.”

If there has been one downside to what has been an otherwise improbably impressive year for Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington, it came when best-selling author John Grisham was in Arlington for a game and Washington didn’t get to meet him. Because if there’s one thing Washington loves as much as baseball, it might just be Grisham novels.

John Grisham to deliver a keynote address at the North Carolina Literary Festival

John Grisham, Elizabeth Edwards and Pulitzer Prize winners Douglas Blackmon, Rick Bragg and Elizabeth Strout are among authors to be featured at the North Carolina Literary Festival September 10-13. On this free public festival, to be held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Grisham is going to deliver a keynote address.

"Ford County" to be released as a digital version?

No topic is more hotly debated in book circles at the moment than the timing, pricing and ultimate impact of e-books on the financial health of publishers and retailers. According to John Grisham’s agent, David Gernert, Mr. Grisham has not resolved how his publisher, Doubleday, should release a digital version of “Ford County,” a short story collection set for hardcover release on Nov. 3.

Grisham's "A Time to Kill" heads for Broadway (2)A stage adaptation of John Grisham’s first novel, “A Time to Kill,” will have its world premiere in 2011 in Washington in what is being billed as a “pre-Broadway” production. Arena Stage’s artistic director Molly Smith said on March 11 that the play will run May 6, 2011, through June 19, 2011. “A Time to Kill” concerns the murder trial of a father who takes the law into his own hands after his daughter is raped.
Grisham among the speakers at BookExpo America (0)BookExpo America has announced its star lineup for the main Author Breakfast of the trade show, to take place on Thursday, May 27. It will feature John Grisham, Condoleezza Rice and Mary Roach. Jon Stewart will be the Master of Ceremonies. BookExpo America will be held in New York from May 25-27, 2010.

For John Grisham, the first book-signing he ever attended was in 1988, for Hannah’s Hey Jack! Grisham recalls, “I discovered him through Airships, in law school, back when I wasn’t thinking about being a writer.”
Grisham's next legal thriller for adults to be released in October (0)Although John Grisham has sold rights to the first two children’s books to Penguin, Doubleday will still publish his forthcoming legal thriller for adults, an untitled work that will be released in October 2010. Grisham has said in the past that at some point, he would like to pick up where his 2001 novel A Painted House left off.
Grisham to attend 'Justice' program (0)John Grisham will add celebrity sparkle to “Justice Through Journalism” programming by the Innocence Institute of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Grisham will speak briefly and answer questions during a March 24 gala that will benefit the Innocence Institute.
