Favourite John Grisham Book?

I would have to say that my favorite Grisham book so far has been Bleachers. However, I am currently reading The Appeal. Additionally, I did not think The Brethren was one of his better books. I own almost all of them though!

I was wondering if anyone else saw any similarity between Ron Fisk, the nobody with no experience, and Barack Obama, the...ah...nobody with no experience? I know, I know. Republicans are the ones who work for Big Oil and Big Industry and have all the cash. Give me a break! I am almost convinced that ultimately they are all working for the same Troy-Hoganish puppet master.

I too was disappointed. It was as if JG let someone else write the ending. JG is my favorite fiction writer and I am a conservative Southern Baptist minister. Go figure. It's probably because I am from north MS and went to Southern Miss and know many of the locations he writes about. Did you notice the similarities between the campaign of the conservative nobody candidate for MS judge and the liberal nobody candidate for president in our real world? BHO has been able to beat down the Clinto...

Grisham says the current administration has evil intent, what do you think?

As a writer myself I think what John Grisham said is in order. A world class writer like him should see it as a responsibilty to say the truth about what is going wrong in world politics, especially from America the den of democracy. I agree and subscribe to his view that America might be paying for Mr Bush unfocused and unpopuler policies on Irag. We should not close our eyes and ears to the truth while hundreds of innocent soul are wasted daily. Kudos to Mr Grisham for standing by the truth a...

5. Who remembers J.G.'s book in which a lawyer says to his client something like this: "It doesn't matter if I'm driving, or shaving, or playing golf: if I think of you, I bill $500 per hour."

John Grisham's use of the word 'fetch'

Hi, I've been told that Americans don't use the verb 'fetch' very often. Unlike in British English, 'fetch' is primarily used when referring to a command you give to a dog. (so I've been told). However, I've noticed that John Grisham uses the verb 'fetch' in quite some contexts. Could you please tell me why this is? I mean, why would he use a word that is not normally used by the average American reader? Thanks, Torsten

You and I must have finished reading "The Appeal," at about the same time. Really shocked at the "ending." I really agree with you; the ending did not match the book. I feel like I may have wasted my time reading "the Appeal", and will probably not read any new Grisham novels. I just watched the movie "Frature," and I love how there were 2 alternate endings. (Thank God they chose the best for the film.) Is the ending in "The Appeal, reall...
