The Broker
The President, whose term of office is about to end, grands a last-minute quarter to the notorious Washington power broker Joel Backman who has spent his last six years locked up in a federal prison. No one knows that the President made the decision under strong pression of the CIA. That is because in his times Backman obtained secrets that compromise the world’s most sophisticated satellite surveillance system.
Backman is quietly smuggled out of the country, given a new name, new identity and a new home in Italy. Once he has settled into his new life, the CIA will leak all the information about his location to Israel, Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia. CIA itself will take the spectator’s place. It is not about whether Backmann stays alive or not – that is impossible. What CIA is interested in, is that who will kill him?

I purchased The Broker at a library sale. 4 pages are dark- 96,97,112,113. can I obtain a copy of these from a website or via e-mail?
All right, The Appeal I considered below par by Grisham standards, but The Broker was excellent in every way. Only one glitch, Mario could not have entered the US on the borrowed passport alone, he would have needed a visa form as well. This book also wants a sequel..but maybe there is nothing more to add. It was great.
