The Appeal is the cover review in the New York Times Book Review (March 30)
John Grisham’s The Appeal was the cover review in the New York Times Book Review on March 30.
Steven Brill, the founder of American Lawyer magazine and Court TV, pens the review, calling The Appeal a “gripping tale” and commending Grisham for pointing out “how the justice system in more than half of the 50 states is increasingly threatened by the kind of big-money gutter politics that have made so many Americans disgusted with Washington.”
In a sidebar interview, also in the Book Review, Brill states that Grisham’s prose “has the texture and authority of someone who’s been exposed to [the legal system].”
